My kid asks for a card every day. Our favourite moment.

PriyaBeautiful, calming, and so well made.
MayaSmall ritual, real skills
A card is easier to answer than a question. Children who freeze at “how was your day?” will happily tell you what the picture is feeling, and once that door is open, everything else follows.
-
Feelings get a name
Naming an emotion is the first step to managing it. The card does the hard part: it puts the feeling outside the child, where it is safe to point at and talk about.
“The Moon looks a bit lost.” “Do you ever feel like that?” -
Stories they author
Every card is an opening line, never a finished tale. Children invent the characters, the trouble and the ending — stretching vocabulary, sequencing and imagination without noticing they are practising.
“She’s leaving at night… but she takes her lantern.” -
Standing in someone’s shoes
Reading a figure’s face and guessing what they want is empathy practice wearing a costume. Children rehearse other people’s feelings at a comfortable distance, then carry it into the playground.
“He’s sad because nobody shared.” “What would you have done?” -
Learning to let go
The card you draw is the card you get. There is no retry button and nothing to lose — and tomorrow the deck shuffles again. Disappointment arrives in a small, survivable size, and so does starting over.
“It’s okay. Tomorrow I get a new one.”
